Build a small walking habit over four weeks
Build a small walking habit
Ten minutes at a time. Your legs would like a side quest.

Before you begin
Choose an accessible route or indoor alternative and check whether the activity suits your circumstances. Decide on a cue and a backup option for difficult days.
Your first session
Try a comfortable short session and note how the route and timing worked. Adjust the plan before trying to make every session identical.

Helpful resources
Use what you already have where it fits. Resources are optional unless noted.
Optional equipment
Step 1: Pick an accessible route or indoor option
Nalgene 32 oz narrow-mouth water bottle
Check whether your route needs carried water; an existing bottle is enough for this optional preparation.
Consider: The narrow opening is convenient for drinking but less convenient for adding ice or cleaning by hand. Check the size fits your bag. Plan water needs for the conditions; one bottle is not a universal supply or a water-treatment system.
Free or already owned: Refill a suitable bottle you already own and check where drinking water is available.
